Abortion in elections 2012: Pro life or pro death- oops pro choice

Did you ever wonder why pro choice people don’t call themselves pro death?  It seems that the abortion industry is surrounded in lies, even to the name of their cause.  When a fetus’ heart stops and it didn’t make a conscious decision contributing to its demise, it is obviously dead without any choice in the matter.  Pro choice is pro death; and people should stop hiding behind terminology and just call things as they really are.

So, are you pro death or pro life?  What would Jesus say?  If you follow Twitter for the word “abortion” you’ll find a new string of sayings pop up saying that Jesus never spoke on abortion.

Seriously?  Did He have to?  Does anyone really think Jesus Christ was in favor of murdering babies in the womb?

The abortion argument is vast, it has many layers and things would be much simpler if women and men could get their sexuality under control and eliminate a good portion of unwanted, unplanned pregnancies by handling their sexual lives responsibly.  Of course abstinence is best, but it isn’t realistic.  For many, the idea of being a teen mother, single mother, mother in an abusive relationship, or mother of a rapist’s baby is one of the hardest decisions anyone can make. How about the decision to choose between the life of a mother or her baby?  It's a tough one and their are valid points on all sides.  There are also amazing stories of women who chose to give their baby a life at the cost of their own.  There are also stories of women who were ready to die so that their baby would live, yet miraculously; they both lived.

Abortion seems an easy alternative; especially for a woman who is dealing with the hardest and most difficult experience she’s ever had to face.  Killing a baby while in the womb solves a lot of problems.  You don’t need to worry about how you’ll get through the next nine months of pregnancy and you don’t need to concern yourself with what you’ll do with a baby after it’s born.

We get it.  Abortion is an easy solution to an incredibly complex problem.

Or is it?

You see, a woman who has an abortion hasn’t become any less of a mother; she is now the mother of a baby that died in the womb.  Most likely, she is the mother of a baby that was sucked out of her womb with a high powered vacuum and ripped apart limb by limb, before the pieces were discarded in a trash bin.

A woman who has an abortion; depending upon the stage of pregnancy; will also experience afterbirth pains and will lactate- that means your body thinks you gave birth to a baby so your breasts make milk in order to feed the child.

Oops- did the abortion clinic forget to tell you that?  Don’t worry, they’ll give you a shot so your milk will dry up and you’ll never know the difference; though the bleeding that continues will continue to remind you, along with the severe cramping and after pains.  You might feel them again; after you have a living child.  It may even cause you to remember the abortion.

And then there’s the possibility that you may, one day, regret the decision.

Oops- sorry.  Abortion clinics don’t have any remedies for guilt, shame, sadness, despair and depression.  There is however always Prozac and Xanax to help you with any pangs of depression or anxiety you’re dealing with.  But don't worry.  There are plenty of women who have abortions and never think twice about it, never regret it and never wonder who their child would have become.  Maybe you'll be like them.  The lucky ones.

The chance that America will become completely abortion free; is quite frankly, impossible.  Should abortion be illegal, people will go right back to back alley clinics or even perform their own abortions.   They'll take certain herbs, throw themselves down a flight of stairs, drink plenty of alcohol and punch themselves in the stomach- you get the drift.  A woman who doesn’t want a baby isn’t going to have one.

Bu then, there are other women.  Women who later regret the decision and then say they were lied to by the abortion clinic.  Women who say, “If I knew the baby had a heartbeat, could suck his or her thumb, could hear my voice…I wouldn’t have done it.”

And those are the women who should be taken into consideration during 2012 elections. You know, the women who may actually have a change of heart if one of those "crazy" politicians gets in office and forces women to actually see what's going on inside their womb before they make a...gasp...choice.

If getting an ultrasound before an abortion and a woman realizing she has a baby in her womb, if she instantly falls in love with the image on the screen and places one hand on her womb in awe and wonder of the miraculous life growing inside her; if the sound of her child’s heartbeat racing like the thundering footsteps of wild horses is a bad thing; but keeping a woman in the dark of the life growing in her so a doctor may rip her child apart limb by limb then throw the dead carcass away like trash is desirable and the intention, then there is only one question to ask.

What kind of society are we?
