ABC sets fall 2014 lineup, preps 'Agent Carter' for winter

The DC Universe may be moving into Fox, but ABC is sticking with Marvel. During the ABC Upfronts press conference, the network released their plans for their fall 2014 season and it includes plans for twelve new series to debut between fall and winter, including "Marvel's Agent Carter".

Changes in the ABC schedule are small but significant. "Scandal" and "Grey's Anatomy" are each moving up one hour earlier on Thursdays to make room for Shonda Rhimes' new one hour drama, "How to Get Away with Murder".

The House of Mouse is continuing its loyalty to the rapidly expanding Marvel Comics Universe, opting to give "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." another season despite a struggle to find an audience. The show finished strong, however, but ABC is hoping to really boost visibility by moving the show back one hour, to 9/8c on Tuesdays.

The feather in the Marvel cap is "Agent Carter", which will follow that Agent Peggy Carter from "Captain America: the First Avenger". The new series will feature the origins of the master spy organization that will one day come to employ super heroes. The show will serve as a as bridge programming in between the fall finales and the winter premieres of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Once Upon a Time".
