ABC's 'V' finds some hope in finale ratings -- but will it be enough?

The ratings are in from Tuesday night, and the action-packed (and bloody) season finale to "V" managed to improve slightly on its performance on ABC from the week before. Overall, the show managed a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, an increase of a tenth of a point from the week before. The reviews for the finale were also strong, and that may be what fans are counting on (in addition to the cliff-hanger ending) when it comes to getting another season.

The only thing "V" does have going for it is that it is the highest-rated show on Tuesday for the network in this demo -- though that is going to change next week when "Dancing with the Stars" comes back on the air.

Elsewhere, "Glee" ended up winning the night easily, even though it was down slightly when compared to the week before. Was it the absence of Gwyneth Paltrow? It's possible, but the drop was a bit of a shock considering that this episode was Regionals and contained so many important moments for the show (such as the Kurt-Blaine kiss).

As of right now, how likely do you think it is that "V" returns?
