We started this episode of ABC's "Lost" off with lovely news: this is a Jin episode! We knew that Mr. Kwon was in company of Dark Locke, but very quickly we found out even more than that -- he was still convinced he was going to find Sun, and Locke was promising him a way. Of course, the "Man in Black" had an ulterior motive -- he wanted to keep Jin around in case he was one of the candidates.
Then, we quickly found out through the "alternate universe" that the couple is not actually married in this world -- which means they may also not be as miserable. As it actually turns out by the "unbuttoning scene," they certainly don't look miserable at all.
This storyline this week actually felt a little bit weak at first when compared to the alternate universes of Sawyer and Ben, mainly because it mostly involved a business negotiation. It was fascinating that Jin and Sun were keeping their love private, but it would have been nice to see more development early on.
However, much of that quickly changed for the better when we found out what was really going on. Sun's father actually sent Jin on a suicide mission on order to take him out as revenge for dating his daughter. (Talk about a mean father.)
As we already knew, though, Sayid ends up colliding with Jin and saving him...sort of. Kwon still had to do the dirty work, which mean taking out the final enemy. Unfortunately, Sun was also shot in the process...and she was pregnant. (How many shockers can you get in a few minutes?)
For a plot that started a little bland, Sun and Jin's episode in the "what if the crash never happened" world ended with a bang.

Unfortunately for Jin, it doesn't take long back in the "island world" for something bad to happen to him. While chatting it up with Sawyer, Widmore's people come in with their guns, tranquilize everyone, and then take Jin off because of his potential candidate status.
Where was Dark Locke during all of this? Trying to convince Sun to join him by claiming that he wanted to reunite her and Jin. While he was actually telling the truth on this, she was right to turn and run in the opposite direction.
Jin awoke from his unconsciousness inside of the "Clockwork Orange"-esque "music room" that was part of the Dharma Initiative (the one Alex's boyfriend was in). He was greeted quickly by "Tina Fey" (as I call her), who of courses wanted answers. Jin wanted instead to talk to Widmore -- we have quite a standoff here, now don't we?
Locke, meanwhile, arrived back at the camp to find Sayid and Sawyer passed out. There was a great moment in her where he deceived Claire about what do with Kate in the future, before ultimately crafting out his evil "Man in Black" plan.
Richard had a plan of his own on the other camp -- thanks to some instructions from Hurley (who of course got them from Jacob), he wants to lead an expedition to keep "Locke" on the island. Strangely, both Alpert and Widmore seem to have the same priorities. The difference? Charles may have better methods of persuasion. He showed Jin a digital camera with photos of his daughter, and tried to use it as leverage in order to keep Kwon on his side. (No word on if it works yet.)
Instead, we just saw some footage of Locke trying to figure out exactly what the secret weapon was...or who. As we found out at the end of the episode, this person who can help to take down Locke may be someone we already know very well -- Desmond Hume. Is it confirmed that Desmond is "the package?" No, but all signs seem to be pointing in that direction.
As for Sun, she finished off her arc this week by finally agreeing to go with Jack and Richard to the plane site -- even though the doctor initially said the goal was to blow up the plane. She couldn't speak any English thanks to a bump on the head she got running from Lucke, but saying she trusted Jack via pen and paper worked just fine.

At the end of the day, this episode didn't necessarily push forward much of the mythology outside of the fact that we know Widmore and the Man in Black know quite a bit about each other. However, we did have the opportunity to see Desmond return and Jin storylines are always fantastic in their own right.
