With every day leading up to the finale of ABC's "Lost," it seems like yet another late-night comedian is taking the opportunity to parody the popular show in some form or another. We saw it with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel, and Jay Leno is taking his own stab at it.
On Friday night's episode of "The Tonight Show," Jay showed a "recap" of "Lost" to this point -- which included video footage of "Survivor," "Gilligan's Island," and even "Happy Days" spliced in for no good reason other than a cheap laugh. So was it funny? Maybe to the casual fan, but in the end this parody fell short for the same reason that many late-night jokes have over the past week -- they're not catering specifically to the hardcore "Lost" fan. The show has so many different avenues available for parody, so to make a joke about Gilligan just seems like an easier way out.
What do you think of this parody? Check out the video below and stay tuned for more "Lost" coverage leading up to the grand finale of the show Sunday night.
