ABC's 'Lost:' final plane photos added in by ABC

One of the biggest puzzles for the finale of ABC's "Lost" on Sunday occurred during the end credits, when we sat through a series of images that included the wreckage of Oceanic 815 on a deserted beach. If we were to read a certain amount into these shots (which is more than understandable), would this mean that everyone actually died before the plane landed on the island?

As it turns out, though, we weren't supposed to read anything into these pictures. An ABC spokesperson explains to the Los Angeles Times that the network actually added the photos after the fact:

”The images shown during the end credits of the 'Lost' finale, which included shots of Oceanic 815 on a deserted beach, were not part of the final story but were a visual aid to allow the viewer to decompress before heading into the news."

Are you upset at ABC for messing with "Lost?" In between this as the giant "V" symbol earlier this season, we've had our share of distractions. Then again, they did give us five and a half hours of the show on Sunday.

As always, feel free to share your thoughts below and stay tuned for more of the latest news.

Lost was both good and incredibly frustrating. Too many things remained unaddressed. But in general I was satisfied with the ending.

Why was there never a closure shown between Sawyer&Kate?..too much time together for not even a nod of "go with Jack, smthing. Beginning of Season 6 Saw was certainly "in the running" with her again. I guess it was just inferred when she ran to Jack. I just would loved to have seen something of a closure with those two. (I luved Juliet& Sawyer 2 tho, jst sme closure wanted)
Lapitas, Hurly, Sawyer, Kate how did they die? plane blow up or? Island to Church for Richard & Ben too? not enough time/just all about Jack...although I loved him too..
3)MOSTLY MOSTLY..WHY couldn't they all have lived...with stone moved off axis,so Monster mortal & killed. Then with Jacks replacing the stone, Island returns to "miracle island".Jack doesn't die& maybe now the "good" dead ones walk out of cave or not. Time "travel" back & forth via the "wheel or light" realized via Desmd. All of them Dead already, too obvious, 6Sense. Nutty soaps go on & on,why not this?? Us RobCarusos wanted that Thnx tho gd sho
