Is it a sign of the times or are people just crazier? Pointless murders are on the rise. What is the latest one? An
Illinois
man kills neighbor over dog urinating on his front lawn

According to an ABC News report, former Marine Charles Clements allegedly shot Joshua Funches in the abdomen after he let his fox terrier urinate on his front yard. 69-year-old Clements was known for his immaculate yard and even won a few beautification contests. Neighbors described him as "obsessed" with his lawn, but no one expected him to commit murder over it.

23-year-old Funches was found on the ground in a vacant parking lot by police. Clements was picked up shortly afterward. Currently, he is being held on a $3 million bond. The shooting occurred on Mother's Day turning a celebratory day for both families into a nightmare.

Good reporting on a sad event.

He shouldn't have shot the guy, he should have shot the dog. That way, he could have gotten his point across without ending up in prison. I don't blame him for not wanting dogs urinating on his lawn and I'm sure the man who let his dog urinate on the lawn did it just for spite. People need to keep their filthy dogs on their own property.

thanatos - People need to lighten up a little on their property rights. An immaculate lawn is not a reason to take a man's life or even a dog's.

First off I do not see why anyone thinks that on Mother's Day what Josh had on his mind when walking his dog was this man's yard. So to believe that this young man on a day that was maybe about his Mother, Grandmother, or even the Mother of his kids was DELIBERATELY doing this sounds like foolishness. Dogs go where they want to go and if anyone has sense of walking animals outside I dont think that anyone has A PURPOSEFUL/SPITEFUL intention for any of their animals to pee or even poo in someone else's yard. This was urination and this man allowed an obsession with his yard get the best of him. Many people want to talk about respect for elders and how the young generation has no respect, since this may very well be the case why are we creating more of a negative impact by saying this over and over versus MAKING A CHANGE AND EDUCATING the younger generation. Using a 45 caliber gun to "teach a lesson" is wrong; There needs to be more LOVE going on in the world but instead there is HATE.

What is wrong is that this man with the dog has control over the dog. The man that shot the guy was old. Its about respect people! It is his yard he has a sign in it. Dog poop and urine carries parasites and worms. If people have babies or toddlers its a health risk particularly for people with small children.
And yard work is exausting and this guy was an old man. What is wrong with this country! Don't you people have any respect for your neighbors. I thing the media needs a lesson on bullying instead of the schools.

comments like these are indicative of how people have come to have little or no regard for human life. it's so sad the way some comments reflect justification of senseless killings like this. there is no way pee on a lawn from anyone or anything equates someone's life on any level. you people are beyond reproach. now i see why our kids are so screwed up with increasingly diminished morals and respect for human life. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!
