The mid-season replacement TV crime drama “Killer Women” (ABC) will end Tuesday Feb. 18, 2014. Six episodes had aired to record low TV ratings. 8 episodes were ordered by the network which was filmed entirely at Albuquerque, N.M. It will be replaced by a new TV show called, “Mind Games” on Tuesday Feb. 25, 2014 at 10/9 p.m.
ABC has not announced if “Killer Women” will return to its' prime-time schedule. The remaining two episodes will be shelved indefinitely. ABC network boss Paul Lee said the show will end, “a little early.” The show was executive produced by actress Sofia Vergara (TV's Modern Family). It was an English language remake of a Latin TV series called, “Mujeres Asesinas.” It follows a female Texas Ranger on the hunt for angry women who kill.
The TV pilot episode of “Women” was shot in Texas. The entire production then moved to the state of New Mexico, filming primarily at Albuquerque. It had employed over 150 production crew members plus more than 250 back-ground extras.
Last night's episode of “Killer Women” on Feb. 12, 2014 was called, “In and Out.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.01 million TV viewers overall. It reached a paltry 0.7 in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic.
It was beaten by a repeat episode of “Person of Interest (CBS) by grabbing 5.77 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.9 with adults. “Interest” will return with an all new episode on Feb. 25. “The Winter Olympics” (NBC) grabbed 23.68 million TV viewers overall (8-11 p.m) & 6.6 with adults.
The final episode called, “Daughter of the Alamo” will air Tuesday Feb. 18, 2014 at 10/9 p.m. If you missed any of the 5 episodes that aired on ABC.
