ABC is flooded with angry comments over Bristol Palin win on DWTS (video)

Wednesday, ABC was flooded with angry comments from viewers after Bristol Palin’s win over Brandy Tuesday night on Dancing with the Stars (DWTS).  Tuesday night, Brandy was voted off Dancing with the Stars; Brandy was in the bottom two with Bristol Palin.

Wednesday morning, fans of DWTS were shocked that Brandy was voted off and Bristol will continue on to the finals next week.  DWTS fans are angry because a website called Hill Buzz has stated that they have been able to create fake email addresses and vote several hundred times on the website.  The news has created an internet buzz Thursday morning.

DWTS fans have threaten ABC and said that the additional voting isn't fair and they won't watch anymore if something isn't done about it.  ABC told Good Morning America that they have measures in place to eliminate bogus voting.

Both Brandy and Bristol looked shocked Tuesday night when it was announced that Brandy would be the one to go.  Brandy had been at the top of the leader board over the past few weeks and received a perfect score from the judges Monday night; while Bristol has consistently been at the bottom.

Bristol Palin is the daughter of ex-Alaska governor Sarah Palin and many DWTS fans are up in arms because they believe that she isn’t the better dancer.

I'm onboard with the majority. This was such a joke! Watched this show every season, but I am finished with the NEXT, if there is one. DONE, DONE, DONE!
Not too political! What happened in a week that she went from 5's to 9's?? Interesting. I'm done as well as my friends/family! Nice job ABC with the nightmare you have caused.

many peopel don't have the chance to vote because they have other obligations like work or commitments. Therefore they have to watch the show when episodes are replayed on the internet at a later time. It's not necessarily due to assuming a person will win or perhaps even being too lazy to watch. I realie they need time to tabulate the results, but if they stop voting at noon the next day, i would think that this should give them time to tabulate the results. It would give fans extra time fo vote. I do noto think the technical scores issued by the judges should be overriden by viewers though. A 10 should always receive more weight than a 9. A consistent performer should be in the finals. Maybe we need a "Most Improved Award" for somebody that shows potential off an on. The Most IMproved Award could go to a semifinalist or even somebody who didn't make the finals but occasionally received a very high score. I think the audience has too much say in the performances when many in the audience do not have the level of training or experience in judging. I would have the cast vote for the most improved dancer since the judges and audience vote for everything else. Give the "Most Improved Dancer" an audition for a dance production or perhaps another season. But that should not be the same award as the trophy for the best dancer. We can't change the rules this season since they are already written. i hope that if this show wants to keep viewers in the future, they will adjust the scores. i would have two separate scores for technque and artistry for all performances, not just one nighit. i'd also have compujlasory numbers where everyone does the same dance and the focus is on the steps, not the costumes, lighting, or music. I think the toughest competitions need to be at the very end to distinguish the rest of the cast from the finalists. They include instant dance, acoustic dance, story dance, and perhaps a compulsory dance from a number performed by Ginger Rogers and
Fred Astaire or another famous number by another dance pair. I know they try new things out each season. I do like that they bring the dancers back at the end of the season for the finale though. IF they can sing, bring them back for vocal performances as well. Bring the dancers back who win trophies on previous seasons as judges. Maybe have the final episode judged by five instead of three, including two trophy winners from previous seasons who are not part of the current cast.

Why are they upset? If they want to vote for someone go for it! You want to accuse Hill Buzz of fake? then do the same! It is all so stupid. It is simple! People at home like to see someone like us do good! Get over it and vote , flood the lines. If it is possible to do a fake ? then why didn't you do it? I cannot believe this. No excuses! She is a great person and has come a long way. You folks just want someone to blame. If she would have been voted off? UHH? You wouldn't be blaming anyone.

all because all of a sudden it is a PALIN? that there needs to be new rules dah dah........ I work too. I am a flight attendant so I have only voted 2 times this season both times for Bristol so don't say it was fixed by voters. I didn't fix anything. Just voted when possible.

Ok ,I voted for Bristol and Jennifer. I'm certainly not Republican. I am not a fan of Brandy and felt her scores were too high from the judges. Bristol is the only one who wasn't a paid entertainer--and I think she has improved tremendously--I like her, so I voted for her. Simple as that.

  • tmd 1 year ago

If Bristol isn't a 'paid entertainer' ... then she should NOT be on the show to begin with ... Dancing with the STARS' ... just WHAT is her 'claim to fame'? Name of the record she released .. TV program she was on .. athletic team she played for .. isn't that what makes a person a STAR?? NEVER heard of her before she hit the news 'n the tabloids due to MAMA's notoriety!! Come on ... this should never have happened in the first place. SHE was never eligible ... IMO

I never vote on these reality shows because the voting is meaningless. Palin has her mother and the tea party supporters wanting the Palin name to remain alive and not get voted off as a symbolic gesture. You bet they are flooding the lines. It happens in all these skill based reality shows. The best rarely wins. Come on now, Donny Osmond? Seriously? Kris Allen or Lee Dewyze winning American Idol are you kidding me? You bet that those from certain states or from certain families have an advantage and it has nothing to do with talent. The best recourse - stop watching. Stop watching and these shows will go away.
