Fans of the Disney film “Frozen” can’t get enough and so ABC has responded with the announcement of the airing of a special about the movie. "The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic" will air on Tuesday, September 2 on ABC, according to Coming Soon on Aug. 13. The special will focus on how the special film was made and include new previews of “Big Hero 6” and "Once Upon a Time."

"The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic" is a special that takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of just how the blockbuster movie was made. Fans will get to see inside the closeted Walt Disney Studios where the film based on the beloved Hans Christian Anderson story was brought to life.

The one-hour special includes interviews with cast members Idina Manzel and Kristen Bell as well as the song writers, artists, directors and producers who helped make it all happen. Chief creative officer John Lasseter also shares his thoughts on the creative process of making a favorite fairy tale come to life.

Part of the magic of the movie was the setting, the beautiful and desolate looking Arendelle. The special will take us to the real Norwegian villages that inspired its look. It includes footage from the research trips creators took to places like Norway, Quebec and more to build a framework for how the city of ice should look.

The best bit may well be that the special promises to provide exciting news about what is next for “Frozen”. “Once Upon a Time” fans will get to see previews not previously released of new show characters Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.

The special also promises to deliver a sneak peek at “Big Hero 6”, the comedy-adventure packed with action that is currently in production at Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the next big-screen project from the studio.

“Once Upon a Time” fans have had a few glimpses of the new “Frozen” characters in the form of promotional stills released by the production company. This will be the first chance to see the characters in action on the live action show.

Mark your calendars. "The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic" will air Tuesday, Sept. 2 on ABC. “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 28 also on ABC.
