ABC is hoping to win some ratings wars with the other networks with some special episodes of it's TV shows this sweeps week. ABC's big shows this season are still going strong in their respective time slots, "Grey's Anatomy," "Modern Family," "Castle," and "Desperate Housewives" continue to lead the pack. In yesterday's press release we get a look at what the ABC executives think will bring in the viewing numbers. 

ABC February Sweeps Week 1 - Sneak Peek Press Release - Valentines Week - February 7 - 13 2011

“CASTLE” – “Lucky Stiff” – The brutal murder of a $117 million lottery winner has Castle and Beckett up to their eyeballs in suspects, envious and angered by the victim’s sudden move from the poorhouse to the penthouse. As the precinct buzzes with fantasies of what our cops would do if they won the lottery, Martha struggles with the reality of such a decision when she suddenly inherits money she feels she doesn’t deserve, on “Castle,” MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET). 

“No Ordinary Family” – “No Ordinary Double Standard” — After a friend is attacked, Stephanie tells Jim that she wants to join forces with him to help catch the perp. But when Jim informs Stephanie that he’s built for crime fighting – and she’s not – the competition is on to see which one of them can solve the case first. Meanwhile, Daphne feels like Jim is invoking a double standard when he allows JJ to date a senior but won’t let her do the same, and Katie learns some disturbing news about Joshua – aka The Watcher — on “No Ordinary Family,” TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET). Ethan Suplee (“My Name Is Earl”) guest stars.

“V” – “Concordia” – Anna uses her newest gift of mankind, “Concordia,” as a cover to hide an invading fleet of breeding vessels that will be used to ensure the perpetuation of Visitors for future generations. Meanwhile, Eli Cohn (Guest star Oded Fehr) and the radical group of Fifth Column tries to convince Erica and our Fifth Column that the “Concordia” gala is the time to assassinate Anna, on “V,” TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"V" fans are protesting ABC's choice to not air "V" on their website or allow it to be uploaded to HULU. “Detroit 1-8-7” – “Beaten/Cover Letter” – The devastating blows come left and right as Fitch, Washington, Stone and Sanchez invade the boxing world to investigate the death of Vanessa King. King’s fiancé, Tommy Westin, is preparing for a big match against Dap “The Detroit Hammer” Fields. The detectives discover Vanessa, an ex-girlfriend of Fields’, was hiding a closely guarded secret which could have thrown the fight and its payday into question. Meanwhile, Longford and Mahajan are forced to give a cold case a fresh look: It’s been five years since James Lakeland died. Now Lakeland’s mother rings new evidence to the squad. A love triangle is uncovered and the detectives must piece together Lakeland’s two lives, the one with his wife and daughter and the other with his married lover who has hidden a crucial piece of the puzzle all these years. The detectives are confronted with tough ethical issues in order to bring a resolution to the case, on “Detroit 1-8-7,” TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET). Boxing legend Tommy Hearns, who grew up in Detroit, guest stars as himself.

“The Middle” – “Valentine’s Day II” — As Valentine’s Day approaches, Frankie becomes elated when elusive son Axl asks her to accompany him to help pick out a present and choose a restaurant to impress his mysterious new girlfriend – who may be way out of his league. Meanwhile, Mike inadvertently spills the beans about Brick’s crush on fellow student Autumn, which totally humiliates his extremely shy son; and having neglected to get a name or email address, Sue begins a diligent search for the boy she kissed during a Halloween hayride, on “The Middle,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET).

“Better With You” – “Better with Valentine’s Day” – Casey has big plans for his first Valentine’s Day with Mia. But Ben and Joel tell him that their rule is to never buy expensive Valentine’s Day gifts for their ladies because doing so would set a costly precedent. Casey goes ahead with his plans anyway, and Ben realizes that he too wants to show Maddie how he feels. When Joel finds out, he decides to compete with them no matter the cost – and gets acclaimed singer/pianist Michael Feinstein to perform, on “Better With You,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET).

“Modern Family” – “Bixby’s Back” — In an attempt to avoid turning into that old boring couple, Phil and Claire decide to revisit their Clive and Juliana role-playing rendezvous from last Valentine’s Day. Meanwhile Jay has planned an elaborate surprise evening for Gloria, but his plans keep getting thwarted, and an admirer comes between Cameron and Mitchell on V-day, but they can’t agree whom the admiration is directed towards, on “Modern Family,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET).

“MR. SUNSHINE” – “PREMIERE” – Matthew Perry stars as Ben Donovan, a self-involved manager of a San Diego sports arena, the Sunshine Center, where curious mishaps and bizarre requests are nothing more than ordinary, on the Premiere of the new comedy “Mr. Sunshine,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET). On what would have been just a typical day at work — trying to get rid of a hockey rink that won’t melt so the circus can go on that night, looking for an elephant lost in the building and arranging an impromptu press conference to repair one of his boss Crystal’s (Allison Janney) PR nightmares – Alice (Andrea Anders) ends her casual relationship with Ben to commit to another man. This happens on Ben’s 40th birthday, just as he’s realizing he doesn’t want to be alone.

Finally the third of the four "Friends" stars is back on TV in his own sitcom. Matthew Perry stars as Ben Donovan a sports arena manager. The commercials have seemed interesting enough to make me want to tune in for the premiere this week, will you be watching? Let us know in the comments below.

“Off The Map” – “I’m Here” — When a scuba diving trip goes wrong, Ryan, Ben, Tommy and Mina race to save their patient underwater, while a flame from Zee’s past returns to the clinic for an unconventional treatment, on “Off The Map,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET). Guest starring Jonathan Cake as Angus Sinclair, Nicolas Gonzalez as Mateo, Aimee Garcia as Alma, Tim Guinee as Nick and Bailey Nobles as Francesca.

“GREY’S ANATOMY” – “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” — Meredith and Lexie’s father, Thatcher Grey, returns to Seattle Grace with stomach pains and a new, twenty-something tattooed girlfriend, Danielle; meanwhile Alex clashes with the new OB, Dr. Lucy Fields, over a patient and Mark places Jackson on his service in exchange for information on Lexie, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

“Private Practice” – “Blind Love” — Charlotte’s attacker, Lee Henry (guest star Nicholas Brendan), arrives at St. Ambrose Hospital, injured by his girlfriend and in need of urgent care, and Sam and Charlotte must decide whether or not to save his life; meanwhile, Susan’s health takes a turn for the worse, and Addison’s mother, Bizzy, begs her daughter to do everything in her power to help, on “Private Practice,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

“Desperate Housewives” – “Flashback” — Lynette fights back when her mother, Stella (Polly Bergen), tries to force the Scavos to pose for a family portrait with her obnoxious new husband, Frank (Larry Hagman). Meanwhile, Susan is presented with a kidney donation from an unlikely source, Gaby refuses to confront her past while undergoing therapy to discover what’s causing her underlying obsession with her doll, Bree continues to keep the existence of Keith’s son a secret from him, and Mike reaches out to biological son Zach to see if he was involved in adopted father Paul’s shooting, on “Desperate Housewives,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). “BROTHERS & Sisters” – “The One That Got Away”– The Walkers’ plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day go horribly awry when Tommy tells Sarah about another secret that Nora has kept buried since they were kids and Saul’s hopes for a romantic evening with Jonathan (Richard Chamberlain) are dashed by a visiting high profile food critic, on “Brothers & Sisters,” SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).
