ABC denies rumors that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being fired from 'The View' (Photos)

Us Weekly reported on Friday, March 8 that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being ousted from the ABC morning talk show, "The View." However, another source reported that ABC said in a statement to USA Today:

"Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of "The View" and has a long term contract."

Us Weekly is the main source that reported Hasselbeck is being fired just days after the announcement that Joy Behar is leaving "The View" in August when her contract expires.

No proof that Elisabeth is being fired

After Us Weekly reported the news about conservative voice, Hasselbeck being ousted from the ABC morning talk show, "The View," other reporters and writers began writing the story whether it is true or not.

Us Weekly doesn't cite any sources in its claim that Hasselbeck is being fired. After Us Weekly reported that Hasselbeck is leaving, others began posting the same story. Yet, no one have cited any reliable sources.

Hasselbeck has also not yet commented on the rumors.

In conjunction with the rumor that Hasselbeck is being fiired, there are a couple of speculations:

• Some have speculated that Hasselbeck and producers are in talks about a possible contract settlement.
• And others have suggested that perhaps in the wake of Joy Behar's announcement on Thursday to leave the show, maybe the ABC talk show is looking to revitalize its image entirely.

Then there are comments from the other side of the coin:

• Some people say that if it had not been for Hasselbeck's conservatism, "The View" would not have been able to maintain its ratings success over her nearly 10 years as a host.
• Other believe Hasselbeck's political arguments with the other hosts have been a key aspect of the show and perhaps without it, the show will lose variety and depth.

If Hasselbeck does leave, that would mean that "The View" will suddenly be without two longtime hosts. The show has had the same cast since 2007. Behar has been a co-host for 16 years while Hasselbeck has been a co-host for 9 years.

What we know for sure is that Joy Behar is leaving. Is Elisabeth Hasselbeck also leaving? We will have to wait and see.
