ABC casting and auditions for 'Desperate Housewives' season eight

Season eight of "Desperate Housewives" is now in production on it's eighth season, and auditions will be ongoing from July, 2011 through April, 2012. Both principal actor and background extras casting takes place in Los Angeles, CA The single camera comedy-drama-mystery series is filmed at the Colonial Street Backlot and sound stages at Universal Studios.

It is not known if this is the final season of "Desperate Housewives". All of the series regulars have signed a one-year contract for season eight, with an option for season nine. The show's creator and executive producer signed a two-year extension contract with ABC that could potentially keep "Desperate Housewives" on the air until 2013. However no official announcement has been made by ABC.
