“Once Upon a Time” has been quite successful for the ABC network. In fact, the ratings were so stellar the network decided to run a spin-off with the setting being placed in Wonderland. According to a March 28 report from Entertainment Weekly, ABC has decided to cancel “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.” The show has one final airing next week as it was announced last night that it would be the series finale instead of the season finale.
Fans are disappointed that ABC decided to cancel “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” after only a one-season run. Many of the fans were excited when the spin-off was announced. The show only had roughly 3 million viewers each week, which isn't enough to save a show on a major network.
While ABC hasn't officially renewed “Once Upon a Time” yet, the chances of another season happening are incredibly high. Fans are wondering whether or not “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” characters may be able to be migrated to the original series. There has been no comment on that yet, but anything is possible in Hollywood. There is also another question about whether or not ABC will try and do another spin-off. Fans are hoping they focus more on “Once Upon a Time” and less on making another spin-off.
