On Tuesday's Dancing with the Stars results show, ABC announced that the next season of The Bachelor will star Jake Pavelka, the pilot from Texas.
According to DWTS host Tom Burgeron, the series will be dubbed, The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love.
Jake earlier denied claims that he was the next bachelor, citing that earlier reports that he'd been chosen were rumors. Blogger Reality Steve predicted that Jake would be the next star of the series well before the decision was made public.
According to a survey on People.com, fans were pulling for Kiptyn Locke (39%) or even Reid Rosenthal (32%) over Jake (29%).
Since Jake is a pilot, we wonder if he'll be taking the girls on dates in his plane, or if ABC will hire their typical helicopter chauffeur.
Jillian Harris eliminated Jake early on in her season of The Bachelorette. He is best known for returning to the show (by the producers' special permission) to confront country singer Wes Hayden for being on the show for the wrong reasons.

I absolutely LOVE Reid but he was definitely heartbroken over Jillian and so I'm impressed and happy that Reid will remain out of the limelight. I never got a good feeling from Kiptyn or his parents but I absolutely LOVE Jake who brings credibility to the show as well as being a gentleman. I'm hoping Jake sees through the wanna be brides who will be gushing all over him. I know there's a diamond in the rough and I'm hoping he finds everlasting happiness. GOOD LUCK JAKE!
Jake was my guy from the first show. I thought he was fun, real, sexy as hell and a hot dancer with a hot body. Too bad Jillian went for the bad boys who will end up hurting her in the end. So grateful it wasn't Kipton...he sucks face like a fish! Agh!!! Good luck Jake. I hope you find the love of your life!
I agree with Kristin and Allison above - blegh, snor, not watching, VERY disappointed in their decision to pick Jake. I don't think I could stand watching him even one episode, good guy or not! The show needs to get some fresh faces. Bad decision..
TJ78--Maybe you should check your facts. Jake did NOT make the final 5. The final 5 and hometown dates went to: Reid, Kiptyn, Wes, Jesse, and Michael Stagliano. Jake was eliminated the same week as Robby the bartender and Tanner P., meaning he only made it to the "Top 8."

Jake adores himself. He would show off all his flying skills so that America would applaud him and adore him too. So he thinks, barf. He also thinks that he's going to get a big gig in Hollywood.He probably will, Hollywood loves fake people. Jake for sure fits in.
Uh...you all are crazy if you do not absolutely fall for Jake and his sweet country boy, self assured pilot ways. I think I might try to get on this show so that I will have a chance to win him over ;)
