The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, based on the first story of the C.S. Lewis novel, follows the four Pevensie children in England during World War II. The four children are Peter Pevensie (William Moseley), Susan Pevensie (Anna Popplewell), Edmund Pevensie (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy Pevensie (Georgie Henley).
London is dangerous, due to the war and bombings, so the children are sent to the safety of an old country home owned by mysterious Professor Diggory (Jim Broadbent).
One day, while playing hide and seek, the children stumble across an old wardrobe that magically transports them to a strange land, the world of Narnia, which is occupied by unique characters. Narnia is an enchanted place where animals speak. The strange land is ruled by evil Queen Jadis, the White Witch (Tilda Swinton). The icy White Witch h has made it snow in Narnia for 100 years.
The children must unite with the true ruler of Narnia, a lion named Aslan, and together defeat the evil witch and fulfill their destinies as kings and queens of Narnia. The story of Narnia is a story of the battle between good and evil and the power of faith.
