ABC airing The Chronicles of Narnia as Movie of the Week

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is airing as the ABC Saturday Movie of the Week on December 11, 2010. In movie from Disney Pictures is a magical tale based on the novel by C.S. Lewis that fits in well with the fun and fanciful holiday season. The Chronicles of Narnia stars William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes,, Georgie Henley, Jim Broadbent , James McAvoy and Tilda Swinton.
 
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," Walt Disney Pictures' magical tale of four children traveling through a wardrobe to the mystical land of Narnia, will air as the "ABC Saturday Movie of the Week," December 11 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. The feature, winner of an Academy Award and a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award (BAFTA) in 2006, will be broadcast in HDTV format with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, based on the first story of the C.S. Lewis novel, follows the four Pevensie children in England during World War II. The four children are Peter Pevensie (William Moseley), Susan Pevensie (Anna Popplewell), Edmund Pevensie (Skandar Keynes)  and  Lucy Pevensie (Georgie Henley).

London is dangerous, due to the war and bombings, so the children are sent to the safety of an old country home owned by mysterious Professor Diggory (Jim Broadbent).

One day, while playing hide and seek, the children stumble across an old wardrobe that magically transports them to a strange land, the world of Narnia, which is occupied by unique characters.  Narnia is an  enchanted place where animals speak. The strange land is ruled by evil Queen Jadis, the  White Witch  (Tilda Swinton). The icy White Witch h has made it snow in Narnia  for 100 years.

The children must unite with the true ruler of Narnia, a lion named Aslan, and together defeat the evil witch and fulfill their destinies as kings and queens of Narnia. The story of Narnia is a story of the battle between good and evil and the power of faith.
