Warminster, PA - It seems to be happening more often lately. People moving on and leaving their pets behind to fend for themselves.
Police entered a foreclosed home, after a search warrant was obtained, on the 300 block block of Bloomfield Road, and found two cats, a male and female about 8-months old, that had been abandoned.
Their owners, Enoch and Anna White were cited with two counts of animal cruelty, a summary charge, but their whereabouts are unknown at this time.
These cats survived without food and water for over a month according to neighbors who claim no one has entered the house since late December. It appears they resorted to eating trash to stay alive. The cats, both extremely thin, were eager to see their rescuers.
They were taken to Bucks County SPCA where they will be examined by a vet, spay and neutered, brought up-to-date on shots, and then will be put up for adoption as soon as they obtain legal custody. Shelter workers named them Twiggy and DeVinci and said they are both very friendly.
Surrendering your pet to a shelter in no way guarantees their adoption or safety from euthanasia, but they stand a better chance of survival than by leaving them abandoned, with no food, water, or care, where they have no chance of surviving, and will die a slow agonizing death from starvation.
Hopefully they will find their owners, and that they will be punished for their abusive actions.
