Aaron Walker, of Pali Winery, will be at La Bottega Sociale this Thursday, February 24th, pouring six of his Pinot Noir wines. The tasting will run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Pali Wines is located in Lompoc, California. According to their website: “Our goal is to make wines that speak well of their origin and their varietal, and to bring those wines to the consumer at the best price we can without compromising quality. While Pinot Noir remains our first love and a significant part of our production, we also produce a few other varietals when we have the opportunity to make a wine we think is worthy of sharing.”
Aaron Walker is Pali’s winemaker. He apprenticed with several other wineries, including Arcadian, Kunin, and Stephen Ross, before coming to Pali in 2007 to work with his predecessor, Brian Loring (now of Loring wines). His 2008 Durrell Vineyard Pinot Noir earned 96 points from Wine Spectator, and 91 points for their 2008 Fiddlestix Pinot.
Pali produces several varietals from various appellations, mostly in California, with one of the pinots made in the Willamette Valley. Their wines include Pinot Noir, a Chardonnay, a Grenache/Mouverde blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Cab Franc/Merlot Blend, a Barbera, a Petit Sirah, a zin, and a rose.
