Neville, who, as part of the Neville Family, is considered New Orleans Jazz royalty, will perform on Friday, March 14 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
"In a season of extraordinary Jazz Roots concerts, Aaron Neville and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band performing at our hall is the piece de resistance. These musical legends get the audiences moving with the unique sounds, spirit and essence of New Orleans," said John Richard, president and CEO of the Arsht Center.
"Throughout our six seasons, we have strived to create a musical evening that not only entertains but educates our audience about the roots of America's art form. With Aaron Neville and the innovative Dirty Dozen Brass Band, we have truly gone to the source," said Larry Rosen, Jazz Roots co-creator and producer.
Neville's first hit single, "Tell It Like It Is," sold over one million copies and was awarded a gold disc. He went on to win Grammy Awards for his triple-platinum collaboration with Linda Ronstadt on "Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind." His most recent recording, "My True Story," represents a culmination of the soul/ R&B legend's 40-plus year career.
A Larry Rosen Jazz Series was co-created by the Arsht Center in 2008 and is currently celebrating its sixth season.
Tickets range from $45 to $130. They may be purchased through the Adrienne Arsht Center box office by calling (305) 949-6722 or online.
