Gore-tex on my mind. The Everstart Series Southeast February 28-March 2, got off with a frigid boat launch in Alabama and cold weather conditions that pitted the bass anglers against the elements. The cold nights and winds are back in town and cold is a far greater condition to fish in than it appears. It decreases your concentration and weakens your will to do anything but keep warm unless there’s a paycheck looming on the horizon.
The bass are hungry
Chad Aaron Lawrenceburg, TN came to weigh-in without an A-rig and with a whopping 30-6 with the thought twenty-pound stringer would be amiss unless you know Guntersvillle this time of year. It’s easy to “overthink” cold water strategy. You don’t need twenty pounds t win a tournament on Guntersville you need thirty pounds.
James McCullen Quakertown, (hoping to leave the cold in PA and warm in in the South) PA is throwing the Alabama Rig and brought 28-4 to the dock for second place. Marty Giddens Alpine, AL is just three ounces behind in third place with 28-1.
Fourth position is holding by using his chatterbait and the A-rig, Scott Canterbury Springville, AL and 26-14. Fifth place Shaye Baker Tallahasse, AL caught all of his 26-6 without the use of an umbrella rig.
Jerry Gore St. Cloud, FL caught the fat “8-13” bass.
