Following his appearance in the post-credits scene in The Avengers, viewers have been wanting more of Thanos, and while his origin is somewhat known by fanboys/girls, his history hasn’t been fully explored until April. Marvel has announced a series exploring the Mad Titan’s mysterious history which will be written by Jason Aaron and art by Simone Bianchi in Thanos Rising. The limited series is geared to explore Thanos’ origins, which will bring readers a new perspective. “This is without a doubt one of the creepiest stories I’ve ever gotten to write for Marvel,” says Jason Aaron. “It’s the origin of an outer space serial killer, the story of the universe’s weirdest romance and a grand cosmic tragedy, all wrapped up in one. This is me taking five issues to really dig into the head of a space-faring world conqueror, mass murderer and hopeless romantic. I love writing stories with villains as the main character, and this book is about Thanos all the way.” According to the press release, the series will not only explore the Mad Titan’s origin, but also answers the question on how this particular story will set up one of the biggest events in Marvel history. Thanos creator has also revealed the Mad Titan is set to appear in both Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2 when they release.
