B-Boys and B-Girls, rejoice! One of the country’s largest hip-hop fests is back for 2010. The A3C is here from October 7-9. You can purchase $15 passes for separate nights or a $33 pass for all three nights – the latter is highly recommended. Tonight’s events kick off at the Red Bull stage at Masquerade in Midtown, featuring Jean Grae and 9th Wonder.
While the A3C is not promoted as an “alternative” outlet, the six-year-old fest combines special performances, discussions and industry connections for independent, “underground” and old-school artists who typically fly under the mainstream media radar. Attendees participate in events designed to honor the four original elements of hip-hop: MC-ing breakdancing, graffiti and DJ-ing and recognize emerging talents who may otherwise be overlooked.
Past acts have included, B.o.B. (now famous), Wale, Black Sheep, Clipse, Murs, Killer Mike a.k.a Mike Bigga and more.
Masquerade is at 694 North Avenue Atlanta, Georgia 30308. Go here for general information about the event.
