Will Burger King outwit McDonald's with their very original one dollar French Fry Burger, or does the mere sound of it have most people going “ewe”? Time will tell, and the only time you will be able to get your hands on one of these original and unusual burgers is through the Fall of 2013.
If the price sounds tempting, the calorie and fat count isn't all that bad either for a hamburger with french fries already in the mix, coming in at 360 calories with 19 grams of fat. Burger King's basic budget hamburger is 240 calories with 8 grams of fat. Add budget fries to that and you just doubled the calories to 480 total and added a whopping 90 fat grams to the 8 you already had, bringing the fat total to a whopping 98 grams.
This may not sound like a lot of calories and fat, but with the burger only costing $1, it could be small; many may have two or even three burgers to feel full. If you keep your brain attached, you can enjoy this limited time novelty and perhaps get a decent burger for a dollar at Burger King and come out ahead on fat and calories. Considering they grill their burgers instead of frying, those who frequent there may do so on the basis of taste. If calories and fat were too much of an issue, folks wouldn't shop fast-food in the first place, but it is nice to know the numbers will be on the side of the customer this time around. Thanks Burger King.
