A Waterway of Stops

The Miami-Erie Canal Site Historic District is located mainly between 5171 and 5251 Rialto Road over in West Chester in Cincinnati.  This Miami-Erie Canal Site did not have a specific architectural style to it but whomever built it remains to be unknown at this time.  There is a total of 120 acres of land in which the canal runs on.  There are a total of two contributing buildings as well.  The Miami-Erie Canal Site Historic District also goes by the name of the Upper Mill Creek Conservation Corridor.  This particular corridor is located of Firebird Lane and has a 3 mile path that runs from State Route 747 to Route 4.  The main focus of this area was to protect the canal's features such as the aquaduct, the waste weir, the foundation of an ice house and the ice ponds.  This area also has a protecting floodplain area for protecting Mill Creek.
