The Los Angeles River has had a surprising makeover, and the improvements to the river and surrounding area, beckon visitors to kayak, bike, hike, photograph and enjoy this new old attraction. I decided to see the transformation for myself and drove to the Sepulveda Basin, Wildlife Reserve in Van Nuys.
I parked near the Apollo XI Model aircraft airstrip, an open airspace designated just for model airplane enthusiast. An interesting place in itself.
From the parking lot I followed a trail towards the river and it took less that 10 minutes to get to the L.A river's edge, where I took these photos.
