We are all familiar with New Year's resolutions.
How many have started the new year with good intentions, only to lose steam after the first few weeks? Well, you are not alone. Let's make 2013 different, starting with your relationship with yourself. So many of us spend time looking outward at everyone else as the cause of our life situations, but it really all begins with you.
This way of thinking comes with time and maturity.
It is all too easy to blame the world around us if we haven't met our goals and dreams. We blame others for standing in our way. We sit and wait for our luck to change. We wallow in self pity. Sound familiar?
We give you permission to be happy. We want you to stop waiting around and take an active role in your life. The better your relationship with yourself, the easier this will become. Remember the book The Secret? Like attracts like. If you carry yourself with an aura of happiness, you will naturally attract that sort of energy and those types of people to you.
So how do we go about achieving our goals?
Glad you asked. There is an amazing tool that we are going to teach you here, to help you go after your goals and dreams and improve your relationships. The time is now to take action. Vision Boards are a visual collage of your hopes and dreams. Most people we meet want something: money, a better car, a bigger house, their soul mate, a thriving career, a trip to Europe, more confidence, the list goes on and on. There is no secret to it all, or massive sacrifices. It is all about energy and drawing yours to where you need it to go. Simply put: it’s The Law of Attraction. When you start assembling pictures that appeal to your deeper self, you unleash imagination, power and energy.
Vision Boards are collages that you make up of images, pictures and photos.
These images represent who you want to become, what you want to accomplish and the biggest dreams for your life. It can be anything that moves you. To really work, a vision board has to come not from your culture but from your soul. You need to do more than just “think” your dreams, you need to take action.
- Take some time to really think and envision what it is that you want for the coming years.
- Cut out magazine pictures that resonate with you. Lay out your visions in front of you, as you want them. Cut out photos and phrases. Paste them onto your poster board or in a scrapbook. Get creative. Have fun. Surround yourself with images of things that you desire.
- Lastly, and most important one is the action step. Take conscious action in your daily life to achieve the goals that are staring back at you. All of the pretty pictures won't do the work for you. Action is the key component to this whole process. This does not happen by just wishing and waiting for The Law of Attraction to work.
Vision Board Supplies:

- A stack of different magazines to cut up

Change requires honoring commitments, not blaming others for our failures, assessing the self-sabotaging things that we do and realistically defining our goals. Thoughts need action- change doesn’t just happen magically. We still have to take responsibility for the life we created with our actions.
It’s great to do this project in groups of friends because it helps generate enthusiasm; it’s a good way to do something creative to change your life. Plus a group has an accountability element: you’re connecting with friends who will encourage you after your project is done. Here's to an amazing and prosperous 2013.
