A variety of flans to taste at annual Flan Fest

If you have a sweet tooth, love flan and want to have fun then the place to be is Ybor City in Tampa, Fla., for the 10th annual Flan Fest on Saturday, February 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Flan Fest is held at the Saturday Market in Centennial Park corner of 8th Ave and 19th St. The event is held in conjunction with Fiesta Day, which is Ybor City's official day of celebration of its ethnic heritage and culture.

Flan Fest has 40 contestants participating in the flan bake off to see who wins the honorary ‘Top Flan in Tampa Bay’ title. Judges better have an extra sweet tooth and plenty of water to start judging at noon. There will be a non-traditional and traditional category with winners being announced at 2:30 p.m.

Don’t miss out after the judging for your sampling of flan. But it’s not only about the flan, there’s fun for the entire family – live entertainment, shopping and food sampling. Enter the Flan walk with your family or enter the flan eating contest both at 2:00 p.m.

And after eating dance off the calories with live performances by select artists - Tony Garcia, Mitrix, Simona B and Grupo Ritmo Caribe.

It’s a great way to spend your Saturday with family and friends in Ybor City.
