It's back to school time and there are a number of pieces of technology the current college student shouldn't be traveling back to school without. A back up plan for your data should be one of those things you give some thought to. If you don’t want to think about it, then you better get something that will do it for you.
Lexar Media’s Echo ZE drive
Understood, you don’t have time to be burning backup disks and hauling around large external drives. But, you do realize you want your files protected against possible hard drive crash. Enter one of the smallest back up plans to grace your netbook or notebook – what’s affectionately known as a “zero footprint” USB drive.
At just 20.1 by 15.1 millimeters, it is one of the smallest USB drives in the world. With a drive so diminutive in size, you needn’t remove it when it’s time to put the computer away.
Built-in software automatically backs up files in use, with the option to encrypt data. If you’re not disciplined enough to have a back-up plan, this is a great hands-off way to start.
The drives are available in 8, 16 and 32GB capacities. That should cover a whole semester’s worth of files so you can avoid the “dog ate my homework” excuse. Check them out here.
