Especially fun is the Enchanted Railroad, a tiny replica of a diesel train. This delightful miniature railroad is loved by young and old alike who climb aboard. Please be aware that passengers must be at least 30 inches tall and able to sit on their own. The running schedule depends on the weather and on availability, so make sure you call ahead.
The property also houses the Sturt Haaga Gallery and the historic Boddy House, located in the southeast corner of the 150-acre botanical garden’s property. Docents lead hour-long tours of the Boddy House on Saturdays and Sundays at noon. Visits and tours are free with Gardens’ admission. The Boddy House is also available for Special Events, especially Weddings. The Gardens also offer other event locations such as the Rose Pavilion, the Magnolia Lawn and the Van de Kamp Hall.
Descanso Gardens is especially popular for filming and TV productions. The varied landscapes lend themselves for commercials, movies and photography. Several popular TV shows such as "All My Children”, “The Closer”, and “NCIS” have shot scenes on the premises.
