If you consider yourself a follower of Jesus Christ, the Christ that is explicitly spoken about in the Bible, then it is important to recognize that the religion of evolution is unscientific, man-made, and intentionally designed to try to discredit God's Word of TRUTH.....
"Ultimately, since no human was around to observe the origin of the universe, we must all begin with presuppositional belief. Either God's Word is true about the creation, or modern scientific 'theory' is true about the ages-long evolutionary development of all things through random processes. They cannot both be true. They are mutually exclusive."
So, what does the bible actually say about the origin of life on earth?
The Origin of Life
"So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind." - Genesis 1:21
"Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind. And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds." - Genesis 1:24-25
"Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." - Genesis 1:26
This is just a small sampling from the Word of God explaining how everything was created. This is vitally important in light of evolutionist claims that a lifeless clump of matter, somehow - inexplicably - came to life, began to - somehow - diverge into various life forms, which increased in complexity through the passage of time; supposedly billions of years, for no reason at all.
Do you not see the conflict here?
The bible enables us to understand and to see God's almighty grandeur, power, and creativity. Evolution's aim is to discredit that. There is, therefore, ZERO justification for a so-called follower of Christ to give "theistic evolution" the time of day.
In addition, a professed follower of Jesus Christ, would also recognize the biblical truth that God, the Father and Jesus, the Son, are one and the same, meaning that Jesus is also responsible for Creation.
The Word Became Flesh
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." - John 1:1-5
When the bible says that "the Word became flesh" it is specifically referring to Jesus. Jesus is THE "light of life" through which "all things were made". In other words, Jesus is the physical, visible manifestation of the Word, which IS God.
We see further confirmation of this later in the book of John:
"He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him." - John 1:10-11
Jesus, who was a Jew, came as the prophesied Jewish Messiah, but many Jews rejected him, expecting instead an earthly king for an earthly kingdom. The references continue:
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14
If you still have doubts as to whether Jesus and God are one and the same, and whether Creation is real, here's a little more information that should help:
"Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?" - John 14:9-10
There you have it. God is responsible for ALL of creation. Neither the universe, nor the rich and complex life on earth are the mere, accidental, random, and purposeless manifestations of an unguided, natural mechanism.
Again, as Dr. Henry M. Morris, wisely noted in his book:
"Evolution is a story invented by man in order to exclude God from his life. Others have adapted it and tried to force an interpretation of Genesis in which God allegedly uses mechanistic and naturalistic processes to 'create'. Modern man is really good at telling the story of evolution! But that is not what the bible says or teaches. Not even close."
