On Wednesday, as Sgt. Jason Bos waited at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, he wondered if his former partner, canine military working dog, "Cici," would remember him after two years of being apart.
The pair had worked together for five years, until Bos was forced to retire after a back injury. According to ABC News, Cici, a Labrador retriever, was just five years of age when Bos left - so she continued on with her bomb-sniffing duties without him. Recently, Bos discovered that his former working partner would soon be retiring, and plans were put into place for the pair to make retiring together a reality.
On Wednesday, the big reunion was scheduled at the airport...and the ability for a dog to remember someone was put to the test.
Cici passed with flying colors - as soon as she set eyes on Bos, her tail-wagging went into overdrive and her joy was readily apparent with her tongue-lolling kisses and double-pawed hugs. No need to worry - a dog does not forget.
Enjoy your retirement Cici!
