A thick haze gives way to some sun, pm storms possible

Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:

Synopsis,
A strong cold front will settle across the region today through Monday evening. An area of strong storms should form by 5pm this afternoon lasting through 10pm. Strength of these storms will depend on heating through a thick haze that should gradually thin out this afternoon. This haze is a result of dying thunderstorms from the North overnight. None the less temps should get into the lower to middle 80s this combined with sufficient humidity, dew-points in the lower 70s will make for CAPE values in the 1000 to 2000 j/kg. Shear in the 30 to 40 knot level will make for the primary threat to be damaging winds and some large hail, especially since winds will run parallel to the front, meaning less turning with height. However an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out in any supercells that develop ahead of this evenings squall line. Flash flooding will likely occur where storms move slower and train. A second stronger front will move in tomorrow afternoon and evening giving us another chance of scattered showers and storms. These storms will be a bit weaker and more isolated in nature due to less humidity in the air.

Long range:
Behind the front a rare mid July cold shot will drop in from Canada. Record low highs could be challenged as well as record lows for many. Highs will stay near 70 Wednesday with overnight lows dipping into the upper 40s for some.
