A Taste of Puerto Rico Festival rumbas in Denver June 12-13, 2010


Everyone’s invited to the free 5th annual A Taste of Puerto Rico Festival at Stapleton Central Park, 9000 E Martin Luther King Blvd S, Denver, CO 80238. Free shuttle service will operate from Stapleton Park-n-Ride and Northfield Mall to the Park.

Last year, over 7,000 participated during the two-day festival, coming from as far as New York.

You’ll enjoy festivities like dominos, face painting, horseshoe, hula hoop contest, karaoke, kite flying (on Sunday), Salsa contest, trivia questions with prizes and volleyball.

Delicious Puerto Rican cuisine, which may include arroz con habichuelas quisadas, carne de rezs quisada, platanos maduros, alcapurrias and others, will be available.

Latin-flared rhythms by DJ Groove and DJ Manolo will spice the occasion. Live performances are also scheduled by (not in order of appearance):

A Taste of Puerto Rico Festival begins Saturday, June 12, 2010, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Sunday, June 13, 2010 the celebration continues from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

    I've been to this event two years ago and it was alot of fun. Attend if you like good food and lots of salsa music.

    Although I enjoyed the Salsa music, I really do think they should have had our "real" musica tipica, which is jibaro/folkloric music from the mountains of Puerto Rico! Check it out on you tube!! Muchas gracias!
