Inspirational literature is literature that can change and transform a reader's life. One example of a series of books that can change a person's life is the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" franchise. This series of books was first released in 1993 and they have sold over 112 million copies. These books as well as many other novels are able to tell original stories to the readers, but yet the reader can relate to the individual in the story.
What makes an inspirational story so inspirational? What makes a reader feel that when they are done reading the particular story, that everything in their life will turn out alright. One way is the the story must be a relatable issue that is addressed, such as the lost of a loved one or moving from a place that one called home. These themes and a number of others can be relatable to the reader. A happy ending is also very important in inspirational literature. Although in life there are times when everything seems to be going downhill, there is always a silver lining, even if it is far off in the distance. Happy endings are also important because it gives the reader hope that no matter what happens everything will be okay in the end.

Inspirational literature is in some ways a parallel to the lives that humans live on a daily basis in that some parts in life are great while others are saddening.
