A few years ago I was browsing an animal rescue site and came across this little senior dog that was looking for a home. As I read her story, I knew instantly that I wanted to adopt her. She looked so scared and her eyes were vacant. Her story was so sad ... she was a "puppy mill" dog and had been in the "mill" for ten years. No longer wanted, she was up for adoption and because of her age, she had no real interest in adoption; afterall, most people wanted puppies. At this time, I had five beautiful rescues and was experiencing some difficult times in my own life, but this little angel captured my heart and I knew that I had to bring her into my life. So, my decision was made and I contacted the rescue and the rest is history.
I'm going to tell the story of this beautiful little girl in a series of stories and pictures, some funny and some serious; some playful and animated; some will make you laugh and some will bring a tear to your eye, but all will make you smile a happy smile of love knowing that she is safe and loved and experiencing the best senior years of her life.
People used to ask me why I would adopt a senior dog and my response was always the same. I told anyone that asked if I could give this little girl the best week or month, year or years of her life after enduring such a horrific life for her first 10 years, I'm blessed to be able to do this. Whether this little angel graces my life for a week or years and years to come, I will always cherish the time with her and the beautiful memories that she has created not only for me, but for all of the people that she has encountered.
I hope you enoy the series of photographs and stories that will outline the life of my beautiful little girl as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.
