In December 2007, we met and I fell in love. As you know, this story is about a little four-legged girl that I fell in love with based on a photo on a pet rescue site. My heart melted when I saw her picture, but when I met her, my entire world changed. This sweet little girl was 10 years old and yet she had nothing. She lived in a small cage for the first 10 years of her life. Imagine yourself in a prison cell for 10 years...this is what she endured through no choice of her own...this is what she endured because of greed! The only world that she knew was to reproduce over and over and over again and to make money for people that have no morals and use our beautiful dogs in the most inhumane way. She was the product of a puppy mill.
I vowed to change her world and to make her the happiest little dog that she could be. She was introduced to her 5 "siblings", all rescues and all with stories of their own. Little by little, she adjusted and adapted. Her "siblings" accepted her immediately and now the "family" consisted of 6.
It was December 2007 and this little girl was being introduced to everything new including her first snowfall. Dressed in a warm sweater, she romped in the fresh fallen snow and held her little face high in the air and she finally felt free. This was one of her first experiences with "freedom" ...
