A story of LOVE in photographs ... JOLIE

JOLIE...BEAUTIFUL...and that is exactly what she is in every way.

We immediately changed her name. This precious little girl was known as Elizabeth in the puppy mill and her only 'belonging' when she was rescued was a piece of adhesive tape with her name written in black marker...Elizabeth...that's it. Ten years old and the only thing that this little angel had was one piece of adhesive tape. I still have that piece of tape to remind me of the horrible life that Jolie endured and although it tears my heart apart to look at it, it also brings me back to the reality of the horrors of puppy mills.

Jolie taught us the incredible ability to overcome the most difficult situations. Jolie taught us how to trust and how to love again. This sweet little girl was ready to live her life and we were ready to make it the most beautiful life for her.

We filled Jolie's first year with new experiences ... the simplicity of her own bowl, a pretty collar and leash, a warm sweater for the winter days. We filled Jolie's life with love and patience and helped her to trust. We also filled Jolie's life with exciting adventures in the park, at the beach and everything in between. And, although tentative initially, she gradually learned to realize that we were not her 'old life' and that this was her new life that was filled with love.

Jolie began to smile and run and play. She learned what toys and treats were and she learned to have fun. She began to interact with her 'siblings' and was animated and playful with them. She has a favorite little stuffed bear that we called 'Teddy' and we realized that she treated Teddy like her own little puppy. So, we bought her several teddy bears, big and little, and many other little toys so that she felt comfort in knowing that she was still taking care of her 'little ones'...

The monsters that take the soul from these beautiful dogs for financial gain are the most horrific beings on earth. We need to stop puppy mills. Don't SHOP, ADOPT is what our motto is. Please support your local shelter or rescue because there are so many animals that are waiting for a forever, loving home.

It has been five wonderful years that Jolie entered our lives and bless us every day.

You will be never know true, unconditional love until you open your heart to a homeless pet.
