It’s no secret that Alex Ariza, strength and conditioning coach to the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., is an outspoken guy.
Having corresponded with the Columbian native now living out of Los Angeles for the past year and a half, Ariza has never left me with an interview that wasn’t worth my time and he doesn’t have any problems stating his true feelings towards any subject he is connected to.
.
.
During a recent visit to Southern California I caught up with a good friend who trains out of the Wild Card Boxing Club, the same gym Pacquiao calls home when training away from his native Philippines, and I was informed that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum was trying to push Ariza out of the picture.
Nothing in this sport has come to surprise me so it was no shock when I saw Ariza take to his personal Twitter account this past weekend and release the following salvo towards Arum.
“Bob arum- manny told me u again tried to get him to fire me. Is it Alzheimer's or are you this Fuc**** stupid! Hope u Enjoy my new article.”
That message was pretty bold and Ariza appears to be showing some initiative, as he is presently in the middle of working on the aforementioned article as we speak. Just hours ago Ariza took to his Twitter account and gave the latest on his situation with Arum.
“Home. Now eat and work more on Bob Arums article. A storm is coming, rest assure, any fighter thinking of signing with Top Rank... Won't...”
Who knows what is going to come of this but Ariza now has everyone on the edge of their seat.
One thing I’ve learned about this sport is that boxing is never boring. Expect more on this situation in the coming days.
