Sometimes you can fall all over yourself trying to find enough good things to say about some restaurants. But then you come to the humbling realization that mere words still cannot do some places justice. Katie Downs is one of those places. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great view of the Puget Sound from every seat in the building. There is also a nice selection of micro brews and spirits to help make the experience even more relaxed. But after you have soaked everything in, now you need to get to the important part, the food. Commonly when you speak to the locals about Katie Downs, the first thing that you hear about is the pizza. And for good reason their pizza is a home run, slam dunk, touchdown, all in one.
For starters you can build your own pizzas beginning with a personal 7 " deep dish $9.99, to a 12" masterpiece deep dish $18.49, so bring your creativity with you. But one would be well advised to experiment with other items on the menu too. Possibly, Katie`s Fresh Fish & Chips $14.99, big pieces with a really nice beer batter. Also while browsing about I spotted the BBQ Chicken Nacho $13.99, that was large enough to even make Adam Richman proud. Katie Downs is after all a tavern, you just don`t feel as guilty about sitting, having a cold one and daydreaming a few hours away in there. Katie Downs is located at 3211 Ruston Way.
