"Born from late nights, big dreams, and lots of coffee" according to A Start Up founder Rachel Schectman, five New York based start up companies have joined together to create an innovative and fun version of online stores turned pop-up shop at Chelsea Market. For six weeks A Start Up Store will feature merchandise from online companies Artspace, Birchbox, Baublebar, Joor and Quirky in one central location where shoppers can access the products usually sold exclusively through the companies' websites. With no shipping fees, no waiting breathlessly each afternoon for the delivery man, and a chance to attend interactive events A Start Up Store injects some life back into your holiday shopping.
If stepping inside a giant, real life version of the monthly beauty product subscription service Birchbox is your fantasy (ok maybe it's just mine?) visit A Start Up Store this Saturday, December 10th from 4-7pm when Birchbox and Oscar Blandi are hosting a fun, hair centric event. Free mini hair makeovers and a free Blandi product with the purchase of a full-size Oscar Blandi dry shampoo will kick start your Saturday night festivities. More information is available through Birchbox's blog.
