Happy Friday from Benny and Ellington! We know you have seen some “preview” pictures of us while we were in a foster home, but now we are at the shelter and are ready for our forever homes! We also have three brothers: Coltrane, Herbie and Louie! You can read about us on our website. We are the most outgoing of the bunch, but we are all fun kittens. Everyone says we are super cute and we will not be at the shelter long. We sure hope they are right. So this is the last weekend for our February adoption special! If you adopt a mandatory pair, their adoption fee is $114. Or if you want to make a pair of your own, the adoption fee is $125. And the pairs go home with a goody-bag! So come by this weekend to meet us!
Benny and Ellington are three-month old domestic short hair kittens who are currently available for adoption. The following is some additional information about them from the Good Mews website:
Benny is the most outgoing one in his fun and active family of five boys. He is the first to greet you and jump in your lap. He has an adorable face and, when held on his back, stretches his paws out as if to say ‘Hey, look at me!’ He is very curious, and likes to be right in the middle of things, including helping you clean the litter box. He loves hunting feather toys or the laser light, which are effective ways to burn off some of his kitten energy. He is very friendly, and we predict he would do fine in a busy household with children or other animals.
Ellington and Coltrane [one of Benny’s and Ellington’s littermates] could be twins. We think they take after their dad, because their other brothers look just like their mom. If their dad was as good-looking as these boys, we can see the attraction, because they are gorgeous. Ellington is a little more outgoing, and will usually greet you at the door and climb in your lap. He loves to get affection, but can’t sit still for long, because he is full of kitten energy. He is a feisty player, and we’re trying hard to teach him that hands are not toys and legs are not cat trees. But sometimes he just can’t contain his drive to have fun. He likes to be right in the middle of things, and enjoys chewing on his brothers.

Good Mews is a cage-free, no-kill cat shelter offering an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area. They provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed almost 7,000 cats in forever homes. The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
