Hello from Licorice! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did! Even though it was Christmas, the volunteers were still at the shelter, cleaning, feeding and medicating. What dedication! And they even took time to snuggle and play with us. We have the best volunteers!
It was a nice Christmas, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were in a home. Hopefully I will be able to celebrate the New Year with a new family? My sister, Pixie and I lost our home a few months ago and we sure miss it. I am doing OK at the shelter, because I am really social, but Pixie isn’t adjusting as well. She prefers a quiet environment. She really is a nice girl she is just overwhelmed at the shelter, so her real personality doesn’t show. But once we are in a home, she will be really nice.
So Saturday is the last weekend for our adoption special Adopt Til’ You Drop! The special is promoted by Best Friends Animal Society and all cats/kittens at Good Mews have a reduced adoption fee of $75! So please consider adopting this weekend. We would all love to ring in the New Year with a loving family. If you are considering adopting two kitties, come meet me and Pixie!
Licorice is a three and a half year old male domestic medium hair kitty. His sister Pixie is a domestic short hair brown tabby cat.

Good Mews is a cage-free, no-kill cat shelter offering an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area. They provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed over 7,000 cats in forever homes. The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
