Hi . . . I am Bond, James Bond. Ha ha, just kidding. I am just Bond - I have always wanted to say that. I am new at the shelter but since I have been here, I have been checking things out, listening to what Good Mews is about.
First off, I would like to say I am so happy to be here. This place is awesome and I know I will be well-taken care of and loved until my forever family comes for me. But the big topic of conversation right now is the Spring Flea Market. I did some reading up on it and it appears this is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Before I could promote it, I had to go check things out for myself. And what I have seen so far; man, the flea market is awesome!! There are a lot of volunteers working really hard to set up our store. They want it to be a success, so they are doing all they can to make that happen. But I did notice, we still do not have enough items.
So that is where you come in. It is going to be a rainy day today, so why not just walk around in each of your rooms and get rid of stuff you just don’t need anymore. And think of it this way: you will be making room for the new items you will get to buy when you come to shop once the flea market opens! So it is win-win for all of us!
The great volunteers will be accepting donations today between 12-3, so you have plenty of time. But don’t worry. If you cannot make it today, there are several other weekends we will be accepting donations. And don’t forget: the flea market opens Friday, April 25, so mark your calendars! See full details about the flea market on our website: www.goodmews.org
By the way, I saw several items I would like to buy but I need a forever home first. So once my new family comes for me, I will be sure to give them my list!

Good Mews is a cage-free, no-kill cat shelter offering an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area. They provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed almost 7,000 cats in forever homes. The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
