A special message from Barnabus at Good Mews

Barnabus from Good Mews Animal Foundation in metro Atlanta has a special message that he posted on the Good Mews Facebook page earlier this week:

What’s up? I am Barnabus. And yes, I am one of those “boys” Randall was referring to yesterday. Let me tell ya, Randall has it all wrong. We are not picking on him, we are just trying to toughen him up. Every time we see him, he is sitting in a lady’s lap, gazing up at her with his goo-goo eyes. Hey, I love a lap too. I could sit in one for hours, but I also like to run around and rumble and tumble and wrestle with the fellas.

So I am thinking I would really enjoy an active household. Maybe some kids to play with, a cool dad to watch football with, and a nice mommy to cuddle up with. So how about coming to the shelter this weekend and meeting me? I am great guy and I know you will love me! Good Mews is having an adoption special thru the end of March: all male cats have a reduced adoption fee of 50%! So come check me out!

Barnabus is a three-year old domestic short hair kitty and is available for adoption. The following is some additional information about him from the Good Mews website:

Barnabus is a small cat with a big name and a huge personality! This outgoing fellow loves to be where the action is. If someone pulls out a laser pointer or feather wand, he is right there, ready to play! He also enjoys just playing by himself. He likes to roll around on a big matt we have at the shelter, pulling the sides up and getting underneath. He will jump up in the air then take off running through the shelter. Once he is done playing, he will gladly let someone hold him in their arms like a baby and give him kisses.

Barnabus is a great cat that had a scary start in life. He was taken in by a rescue, but sadly the rescue got out of hand when they took in too many cats that they could care for. The rescue was shut down and all 77 cats went to the county shelter. Thankfully Good Mews was able to take 14 of them.

So Barnabus is making up for lost time and is enjoying his freedom from a cage. Now all he wants is a forever home.

About Good Mews Animal Foundation

Good Mews is a cage-free, no-kill cat shelter offering an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area. They provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed almost 7,000 cats in forever homes. The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
