A special message from Alice at Good Mews

Alice, a long-time resident of the Good Mews Animal Foundation Shelter in Marietta, has a special request that she posted on the Good Mews Facebook page earlier today:

“Hey everyone . . . it is Alice! OK . . . I love Good Mews, but really, it is time for me to be picked for a new home. I have been at Good Mews for almost 3 years! I know, some of that is my fault, because I was really shy when I first came here, but I am a lot better! I actually like people now and will rub against them and sit in their lap. So there is no reason that I should continue to be over-looked. So for this reason, I am one of the featured cats this month! Good Mews is featuring a few cats that have been at the shelter for a long time, in hopes that we will get adopted.

I used to have a great home and was very loved but my siblings and I lost it when our daddy had to go out of state for a big construction job. He brought us to Good Mews and let me tell you, my daddy was a big macho man, and he just sat and cried and cried. I was shocked to see that! But my daddy loved us and hated to give us up, but he wanted us to have a new loving home. I know he would be sad to know my sister, Snickers and I are still waiting. Well, hopefully March will be my lucky month. So come by this weekend and ask for me, ALICE!”

The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
