How can the special needs community live a more productive life. In the Greater Monmouth County region, fraternal groups and charities are doing their part to assist those who need our love and care. As part of its mission, the Knights of Columbus is a brotherhood that supports the businesses and people, who need that little extra push. Since its founding in 1947, Council 3187 of the Knights of Columbus, continues to provide financial assistance to individuals and groups who have fallen on hard times.
On September 19, 2013 the Knights of Columbus is putting together a ‘Special Needs Social’ for the special needs community in the Monmouth County region. The event starts at 6pm and goes until 8pm. For those who want to attend the party, the event is free and open to the public. For anyone who is interested in attending the party, all are welcome to attend with an age restriction of fifteen and up.
According to a member of the Council 3187, John Ridgeway, the Knights of Columbus makes it very easy for anyone to reach out to them. When it came time for a local not-for-profit to contact the Knights of Columbus, the opportunity was already there. One of the members of Council 3187 is actually a social worker at that same not-for-profit. As a mutual contact between the Knights and Columbus and that 501(c) not-for-profit, that social worker was one of the people responsible for creating this ‘Special Needs Social’.
After preparing and planning for the event, it was only a matter of time before the Knights of Columbus, did its part in offering its assistance to help celebrate the people with special needs. This attempt to bring joy into the lives of people with disabilities shows the generosity of those involved in the event. The planners of the event even allowed some of the members to even plan and put the event together.
All this hard work will pay off on September 19, 2013 when the special needs community will come together to dance, sing and socialize. For those who would like to attend the event, please rsvp before September 16 by contacting this number-732 544 1800 ext 230. The event takes place at the Knights of Columbus location in Fair Haven, New Jersey.
