If you ever wanted to taste authentic Venezuelan food, next week is the time to do it with the opening of the winter edition of dineLARestaurant Week, when Beverly Hills hottest Venezuelan restaurant Coupa Café dishes out its special $15 lunch and $ 25 dinner menus.
Chef and owner, Camelia Coupal says, “We always look forward to participating in dineLA Restaurant Week because it encourages people to try something new- and most people have never had authentic Venezuelan cuisine.”
Your LA Travel Diva Examiner, a big fan of dineLARestaurant Week, which runs Jan. 21 through Feb. 1, 2013 (in two segments), got a sneak preview of Camelia’s menu recently and it’s really worth sampling, especially at the reduced prices. Some of the ethnic lunch specialties on next week’s menu include beef empanaditas, hummus, turkey breast panini, reina pepiada arepa (white cornmeal griddle cakes filled with chicken salad and avocado) and goat cheese salad.
For dinner, your choices include mini cachpas (corn griddle pancakes topped with queso de mano), bruschetta (fresh tomatoes on a crispy baguette), arepitas (fried mini arepas topped with reina pepiada aka: chicken salad), and a slew of other delights ending with a choice of delicious desserts (go for the chocolate mousse). The desserts are not included in the $25 dinner price.
Coupa Café Beverly Hills is located at 419 North Canon Drive (310-385-0420). Reservations are a must, especially during dineLARestaurantWeek. The restaurant also offers special happy hour prices from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, and free WiFi.
