A simple formula

“He must become greater; I must become less” (John 3:30)

These were the words of John the Baptist to some of John’s disciples and a Jew when they observed that people were now going to Jesus to be baptized instead of coming to John. This one sentence should be the central theme in every Christian’s life. If we truly believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior and embrace this awesome fact, then we have begun a spiritual journey whereby we focus more and more on Jesus, His teachings and His will for our lives, and less and less on our worldly desires and concerns. Former worldly passions and desires become less important to us. Former anxieties and concerns no longer hold their grip on us.
Here is another “simple formula” to embrace – 123 – Psalm 1, verses 2 & 3:
“…they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
