On the first of three nights in the Australian city of Sydney, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band played quickly and kept to the routine that has formed over the last year of the Wrecking Ball tour.
In a strange turn of events, the concert started early -- 7:29 p.m. Australian time, 4:29 a.m. EST. Talk about your rarity -- Springsteen concerts always start late -- usually about 40 to 50 minutes after the time printed on the ticket.
And he finished up in just two hours and 40 minutes at 10:09 p.m. local time. One attendee said Springsteen appeared like he may have been a little under the weather. Whatever the timing, they still managed to squeeze in 23 songs and a good time was still had by all 17,000 in attendance at AllPhones Arena. Second Sydney show is Wednesday, early morning on the East Coast.
