Ever been accused of looking like you have one very, very severe Spring Break under your belt? Me either. But at Lakeside’s Eastbound Bar & Grill it was like a severe Spring Break….only it wasn’t Palm Springs or a resort in Mexico…it was Eastbound’s 3rd anniversary celebration held on Saturday, February 16, 2013.
The Hypnosis Show was, in itself, a wild bacchanal. J.T. Wildez and others willing to risk future employment opportunities did Chippendale’s male “pole-like” dancing, air guitar get downs, and had security on hand to tug, or pull at clothing to do a restraint type maneuver during the show. The saving grace to their reputations was that they can say they were hypnotized and were not under control of their free will.
Santee resident, Carol Frye, heard about the anniversary party on radio station KSON and wanted to come watch the Beer Belly Pageant. If ever the word pageant was desecrated this is the time. Frye piped in with “I want to see who Tammy (KSON) chooses.” Octomom-like pregnant bellies stepped forward.
The fun did not begin or stop there—the “pageant” was accompanied with time slots for a pajama brunch, face painting, live bands, and the rest of the bar and grill were packed in for plain olde consumption of food and drink.
While at least one member of the hypnotist’s audience looked like he wanted all computer, cell phone, and bank account passwords “given up” from the hypnotized, blunt brained panel members … alas it was just all fun and merriment. Combined with what will be a time to figure out how to “splain” your actions in the future.
What will Eastbound Bar & Grill do for their 4th anniversary? What excuses do Spring Break veterans use—they will be needed next year – as well. Happy springing!
